Body Rotisserie wanted

Am I posting in the correct subject matter area? Anyway, I am interested in renting or buy a rotisserie from someone within reasonable driving distance from San Diego. Just putting out some feelers to see if there are any options besides buying a brand new one. My 65 Monza deserves special treatment...

Re: Where do you start your restoration?

oh.. I forgot something!

I really want to put the car on a rotisserie. Anyone here willing to rent or sell me one? I don't to buy a new one if I can avoid shelling out $1200!

Re: Where do you start your restoration?

Wow.. I must give a huge thank you to all of the great feedback here. I will post some pictures of the work done so far. This is a solid car, very solid. My goal is simple. I want the car to look new!! I am not sure I will keep everything stock, but I love the character of the car as is, so I do not...

I am looking for both front fenders and headlight bezels. Shipping would be no fun, since I am in San Diego. Send me price information. Thanks.

Where do you start your restoration?

I joined in December 2011 and have working on my 65 vert off and on since then. I think it is time to get serious! I am curious to know where members start when taking on their restorations. I know what I want in my final result, but I get overwhelmed with the process!! I have stripped off all of th...

Re: One side hot.. one side cold

Here is what I verified today. 1. All carbs are getting fuel. I can see the fuel inject into the carb throat when I move the linkage. 2. Per a user's suggestion (Mountain Pilot), after a 30 second engine run, the passenger side manifold is warm, while the drive side is cold to the touch. This car ca...

Re: One side hot.. one side cold

Here is a bit more information. I am 99% sure the cylinders are getting fuel. I say this because the carbs were just installed after being rebuilt by Wolf Enterprises,, so I feel confident there are no blockages anywhere. I installed clear plastic fuel filters and I can see they are full of gas and ...

One side hot.. one side cold

I am new to Corvairs, so forgive me in advance.. please. I am trying to get my 140 engine to run reliably. I got the carbs rebuilt and the engine starts right up. However, on the driver's side, the exhaust is cold, while the exhaust is warm on the passenger side. Nothing changes, even as the engine ...

Re: Proud new Corvair owner from San Diego

Thanks Ray. Your decode filled in some of the gaps in my decode. Now, knowing that this engine is not the original, do you think I will run into any issues? In this thread, both you and Jon mentioned that my engine ID was mated to an automatic originally, but I have a 4 speed. I would not think that...

Re: Proud new Corvair owner from San Diego

Here are some pics. Sorry for the poor angles. I plan to take the car out in the sun this weekend and take a bunch of pictures to document the start of the project. Car is rough but has HUGE potential, as far as I can see. Floorboards are rock solid.

Re: Proud new Corvair owner from San Diego

Thanks for the warm welcome Grymm. See the body tag pic posted here. I was able to find the Engine number (I think) based on your instructions. The car is a 4 speed. I did some body tag investigation myself and found some great information so I am curious to see what you can offer here. The engine n...

Proud new Corvair owner from San Diego

Hi everyone. I have just become the proud owner of a 1965 Monza convertible. The car has the 140 hp engine and I am interested in knowing if that is the original engine for the car. This car came from Reno and has very little rust and looks really solid. I am looking forward to bringing this car bac...
