Re: Bucket seat restoration

I did mine solo with some pretty easy learning curves. DO NOT take both apart at the same time. Use one as a reference for the other if they are still 'in one piece'. Improvise, use some Clark's ultimate glue and canvas to help keep your seat buns on etc. take your time and use lotsa stuffing to fil...

Re: VOTE Corvair of the Month August 2013

Thank you all for the votes! I am proud to have this car as part of my family history long before I ever came about. I will be sure to pass along the good news to Dad (Dave Ives) who will be humbled. Thank you for allowing me to post it on his behalf. Yet again the Corvair family proves itself honor...

Re: Clutch Install

Thanks for the input everyone. I have removed the drivetrain twice before in my garage. The second time due to breaking the 'nose cone' on the diff. I was trying to cut corners by removing only the engine as a whole new suspension, 4spd, and rear were getting swapped in. Lesson learned that I should...

Clutch Install

I'm getting a knowledgable old car mechanic to install a new clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. Any idea how many billable hours it should take? Thanks!

Re: Name that retainer clip...

Usually I call them 'dammits'. Just like the little pin backers for military name tags and ribbons. Cause when you drop one and it bounces into unknown land that's what usually comes out of your mouth!

Happy Summer everyone! Top down weather will be gone soon so get out there and show off your wind-blown Vair-hair. Here is my Father's 1963 Spyder Convertible which he bought brand new in the fall of 1962 from Scuncio Chevrolet in NY. After driving off from their Navy wedding, crossed swords and dre...

Re: The Spousal Avoidance Unit build

Brad unfortunately in PA you have to have a 'regular' registration first, then apply $20 for your vanity tag... Or you apply for antique tags once and never have to renew again Hahahaha!

Hrm2k, looks fantastic keep up the great work!

Re: HELP! 65 Monza 110 dying

Thanks guys. I'm looking at picking up a pertronix 2. The fuel pump is new last year and I cleaned out the gas tank when it was removed to replace all brake lines 2.5 yrs ago. I've had an inline filter in until I removed it. (Thought it might be clogged) but might put another 'clear' one in to see i...

HELP! 65 Monza 110 dying

I am at my wits' end with my ride! It is as stated above a stock 110 with 4 spd. I have changed plugs, points, cap, gas, rebuilt carbs, new regulator, get good spark, changed the timing +\-, and had the alt bench tested. Here is what happens - it fires up just fine, drives for about 5-10 mins and st...
