Re: daily drivers...

Ausydad,

I like the DD now. Does 'BA' or 'Face' ride shotgun with you a-la A-Team? :rafman:
Reminds me of the movie "Old School" - don't go kidnapping any prospective pledges!
(No disprespect, I'm just a smart a_s) Like the custom front grill. Good luck.

I always thought the XJ's looked very much like a LM hardtop, especially when driving away/quartering. :dontknow:

Re: New Member 1st Corvair 1965 Corsa Turbo Need Advice

1st Welcome and congrats! I think like me most of us are jealous that you got yourself into one of the most desireable versions of our cars. Try to keep 93 in it and I usually add lead additive, it seems to keep the knocks down. Rule #1 for these cars which is very easy: NEVER EVER let your oil leve...

Re: Toro Corvair Project Thread azdave

Looks great Dave,

Quick question aside - I have the same wheels on my Vair. I bought new OEM center caps and could not get them to fit! did you have to mill out the center a few mm to obtain a gap between the Vair hub and the wheel center? (Maybe I just got a set of caps that was off) Thanks.

Re: Toro Corvair Project Thread azdave

The next day I completely replaced all of the wires for the rear lighting and now have dependable, super bright full LED tail lights across the rear. I kept the same correct 66 lenses but all 4 light positions are now combined marker/brake and turn signals. I'll deal with a backup light solution in...

Dave you give me a goal to achieve when I'm retired and the kids are gone from the nest! Excellent work, exceptionally thought out, and jealously read-over by yours truly. Hope she smokes ALOT of rice-burners and 'muscle' cars. Love it!

Re: Seat Foam?

I used chevy II seat bottoms and backs for my 65 buckets and they fit nicely. I forget where I got em, thought eBay but cannot find my transaction to letcha know for sure. They were substantially cheaper than Clarks. My 2 cents

Re: I need a wiring harness

I bought 2 from Clarks - the long one in the tunnel and the under dash with the fuse block. Same for me - plugged right in. You can look at the manufacturer they use but they might be only about $10 cheaper.

Re: Steerring Wheel Horn Button Help

Thanks Reid, Your technical terms are right on par with mine. I knew exactly which part the 'plastic washer thing' was while reading your post. :tu: Maybe the horn plunger is all that I needed. If so it sounds like I may be in luck and not have to pull the steering wheel off to fix the issue. :ty:
