A nice view

Thought the view coming out of my Parent's garage looked better with my car in the background! Left is the 64 Spyder, R is the 63 Spyder (1 owner = Dad) and center is my 65 Monza. Three Verts in one happy extended family!

Re: Project: 1964 Corvair Monza 900 coupe in Hot Springs, A

Looks like you're doing great! Lotsa little stuff but nothing major!
I just scoooped up a 63 (see 4/sale in VA) coupe and have yet to dig into it. The wheels look hot! What brand?
Hoping to make it a semi-dependable DD as well. Good luck, I'll try to post m progress as well

Re: 65 110 Monza Tranny leak

If you're going to try and lower or drop the driveline try an ATV jack or transmission jack with safety chains to hold everything in place. I switched out mine in the garage with an ATV jack from Harbor Freight and 2 short blocks of 2x4's. Just be careful! A few dollars in linkage or shaft seals is ...

Re: Replacing Carpet

I did the Clark's non-molded about 2 years ago on my 65 vert. Wished I would've gotten the molded for a couple extra bucks. There probably would not have been any 'buckling' or high spots if I did. Still looks nice and is holding up well though.

Re: Jaguar wheels on LM?

robertto, I researched this last year when looking for aftermarket wheels. The Jag XJ bolt-on wire wheels are the same bolt pattern as the Chevy 5 lug. BUT I do not think that the original, older XK splined wire wheels will fit. I believe they were a 4.5" bolt pattern. (Don;t quote me on this.)...

Re: why does it miss

I went back to the drawing board and just made sure the timing was reset closer to 24 deg. The car runs 100 times better and actually feels like it has some b_lls to it! Something I thought I already did right the first time...
Thanks for the input guys.

Re: why does it miss

Grymm, I'm having the same issue with my 65 110. Rebuilt the carbs, changed the points, checked the dwell, and experimented with the timing. I set the mixture a bit richer to see if that helped but as it got warmer today (about 4-5 miles on it) it got worse under load. When the car is cold it accele...

I have 205/50/15's on my 15" IROC rims that fit great with no rubbing. My wheels are also 15x7. FYI good luck!

65 Corvair script location

A little late for you but here's where the 65 script goes. Same for the rear deck lid (opposite corners - right edge.) I can get you some pics of the convertible weights too if you need em. Best of luck, I'm jealous. I've had my vert ready for shows since last year but seems that I'm working every t...

Re: turn signalsI

I think you might mean the relay? It's under the dash left side of the steering column, big silver thing. Usually it's not so much a bad relay but bad ground of the rear sockets or touchy bulb sockets. Try wiggling around the rear signals in the housings with the turn signal on. If they start workin...
