I haven't had a need to replace mine, YET.
But word on the street is that John Sweet has the BEST oil-pan gasket on the market.
I am NOT a fan of the Neoprene gaskets.

Re: Automatic transmission
Dennis is likely hitting the nail on the head. Davemotohead will tell you to thoroughly clean the cable, and then use REAL AUTHENTIC "Rescue Tape" to repair your cable. (don't bother replacing, it will just do it again eventually.) If you wait long enough, Bodie will write a dissertation o...

Re: Any Belgian / French speaking guys in here ?
Don't know if anyone would want to admit it, but I am sure some of our Canuck members here speak a little French.
I believe a year or two of French language is mandatory in their schools, at least it was for my wife.

Re: More Muffler Chatter
Plain and simply, exhausts drone because of frequency resonance. Kill the resonance, and you kill to drone. You came have loud exhaust and not have drone. If you like everything about your current exhaust, but there is a drone on the highway, don't ditch your exhaust, just add a Helmholtz Resonator....

Re: Silent Cam Gear
Had a '76 chevyvan10 w/250 straight six with fiber gear.
It was drove hard and put away wet many times, and was still seen running around town into the late eighties with the original engine, cam, and gear-set.

Reading the verbiage of their new rules, it appears CORSA has gone WOKE.

Interesting design. Many say IT inspired the lines of the LM. I can see the LM, in the greenhouse, but that's about it. 3800 miles, in 60+ years Must be a true "Concept Car" and not be a fully functional car. Yeah, I know it's a "one of one" and has spent its entire life in colle...

Surprised this is just hitting CF.
It was being discussed on the now defunct CCF, for over a year now.

Re: Question about using a tow bar
Alright, try this. DRIVE the car! Have the "Pick-up Guy" follow you with a load of your stuff , AND the tow-bar. ("Just in case") IF she breaks down you have a prepared tow vehicle already on hand. . I forgot to state, That '66 I mentioned earlier? Yeah, not only was it running o...

Re: Question about using a tow bar
Okay now, I am failing to see a difference between flat-towing, and driving it, so far as possible tire and bearing failures go. If your Dad says it is good, why not go ahead and drive it, BUT have someone follow you in a cheap rental car? You'll need a basic set of tools, that rear wheel bearing yo...

Three-speed will have an H pattern. The four-speed will have an H pattern that is waving at you. shift knobs.JPG . As for rebuilding? Here is my thoughts, take them with consideration of what they are costing you. I would wait on rebuilding. Right now, I would look for a replacement jug, or even a c...
