Re: Looking at headlight requirements and alternatives.

My apologies 69monza, I didn't even look at the page you posted. I saw it was from Daniel Stern and made a gross assumption. One of the last times there was a headlight discussion on CCF, some sheeple posted a page from Daniel Stern that stated a bunch of outdated information, and then insisted ever...

Re: Bing AI's Corvair Restoration

WoW! Those are different alright. Interesting looking to say the least. Look like what would have been, if Buick had made the Corvair. There is a bit of wonkyness going on in the background of the first picture, with strange body panels poking all up in the air. I find the white one particularly fun...

Re: Looking at headlight requirements and alternatives.

. Okay, since someone else brought back this thread, I'll add my $0.o2 66vairguy, if Holley claims their headlights are SAE approved, that doesn't mean squat. SAE is not a regulatory body. BUUUT, saying that they are DOT approved means that they ARE street-legal , because the street is the only loca...

Re: Running on 5

Condensors do fail, but it isn't really common for that to happen.
I would go back through the entire system and double-check every single wiring connection.
Do you have a test-light, or a Digital Volt Meter(DVM)?

Re: Corvair as a daily driver. Am I insane?

If you like driving classic cars, the Corvair is the way to go. In answer to your most basic of the questions,....... YES! The Corvair can be used as a daily driver. One of the few cars out there with an infinite supply of coolant, and it NEVER needs anti-freeze. (But don't tell anyone! :shhh: ) Unt...

Re: Corvair as a daily driver. Am I insane?

This day and age, there is no reason you can't have the exhaust you want, AND NO DRONE! You just need to add a Helmholtz Resonator on the side. Also known as a Drone Trap. This guy builds one for his pickup, but you can build any sized one for the particular needs you experience. https://www.youtube...

Re: Electric fuel pump Facet 40101 vs Clark's C5606?

Dave, you are correct! I never even mentioned it before because of all the nay-sayers, but the little facet pump can quite easily suck fuel all day. It MIGHT MAYBE last a bit longer if it is pushing the fuel, but it is absolutely capable of being engine bay mounted and working just fine. My '67 More...

MtnVairMike , while there are more registered forum members over on CCF, have you ever looked at the pages and pages of member names and seen how many with ZERO posts there are? If all the people who have never posted, or haven't posted in over a year were to be taken off the role sheet, there woul...

Re: In the News

While it is nice to see our little toys receiving positive attention, they could have at least done proper research and told the truth about the Corvair being the first Production Turbo-Charged car! . Yes, the Buick was announced first (by one month), but the Corvair hit the Sales Floor firs...
