Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

If this is your conclusion, if somebody buy a Corvair from jtvairs for more than $12.000 he can not be sure to get a car without massive rustzones and holes, even when it is advertised with "every rust was cut out..."

Ok, I have to live with it.

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

Hey mart... where's the link to your adventure? And Robertto, did you consider looking at the car in Iowa before paying for it and having it shipped? I understand that vacation time is always limited, and possibly you would have liked to start your vacation in Los Angeles, not farm country. Aside f...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

Roberto, our friend! First, you didn't pay $15k for the car, you paid $12,200 and we refunded you $500. I never wrote I paid 15k. I paid 12,2k (without wheels and tires, to be correct). The car was not purchased from Ebay. In our advertisement, we stated that any rust was expertly cut out and welde...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

First of all, why close the thread? I understand a forum as an open discussion board. Please feel free to write your opinion. Maybe I feel wrong and a Corsa Coupé offered for 15k with a few rustholes is a good deal as the seller is seeing. I write only facts I can prove. Everything written before he...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

Please don´t understand me wrong. I am into old cars for over 25 years now. I have owned a lot of old cars, Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, Volvo PV544, BMW 2002, Porsche 911, ´69 Pontiac Firebird etc. There are no really "rust-free" cars in the scene, maybe one or two of thousand...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

Insted of welding you could gring out the rust and use the new metal bonding glues used now in bodyshops everywhere and the stuff works VERY WELL, better than weld in a lot of places and just as strong. One of them is called "SEM Door Skin and Panel Adhesive" works real good. Just my :02:...

Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

In the original post the buyer stated the owner of the car said it was pretty much rust free and all the rust was cut out and professionally repaired. From the looks of the picture shown that is not the typical almost rust free car. That's a major rust hole. I don't know how that was missed in the ...

Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair

Last year I was searching a LM Coupé after selling my ´65 Monza to a nice guy. The nice guy is happy with the car and we are good friends now. 7970_503036199770133_1720892008_n.jpg The plan was to buy a new Corvair in the States in a very good condition, because I am driver not a mechanic. After stu...
