Re: Couple of Qs on wiring and fuel lines

Sweet. Thanks for the wealth of info. I saw on the diagram some letters for the generator but either did not look hard enough or they are not on mine. I will swap those out and do some testing. The harness is from Clarks. My old one had a bunch of missing ends so I am unsure if my old harness had th...

Couple of Qs on wiring and fuel lines

I am working on wiring the engine bay and I have a couple of questions on where these wires go. The diagrams aren't super clear and I never had a reference as mine was in pieces when I got the car. For the generator, are those wires correct? Blue on the terminal on the right and brown on the left? F...

Re: 64 engine rebuilt low psi and turning over slow

Want to just say I appreciate everyone's advice. Primed the oil system and PSI jumped up quite a bit. Saves me from tearing the entire thing down and also validates I have oil pressure. 37 PSI. Rotated the engine over slowly as I primed the pump to ensure all the parts got where they needed. It def ...

Re: 64 engine rebuilt low psi and turning over slow

That is a real cool valve cover catch pan. That is the goal I think. I do not off hand have an extra distributor to sacrifice. But I do have plenty of screwdrivers. So I will give that a whirl. Honestly priming was next as I wanted to also validate I had good pressure everywhere before the engine we...

Re: 64 engine rebuilt low psi and turning over slow

If having only assembly lube is potentially the cause I would be more than happy to toss some oil in and lube er up. I am just not sure if that is the problem. But I can certainly give it a try. The engine is currently sitting outside the car and the status I got it in, it is far from actually runni...

Re: 64 engine rebuilt low psi and turning over slow

First question I have to ask is did the bottom end turn freely when you assembled it? Second question: before cranking, did you use a shaft to rotate the oil pump and prime the oil system before cranking? Hopefully, no bottom end issues. You said the pistons were kind of nasty. Did you clean the ri...

64 engine rebuilt low psi and turning over slow

Greetings. Hoping to get some insight as to what to check before I tear the heads down again. The backstory is I have been working on this 64 Spyder and am rebuilding the engine. I bought it not running and stuck engine. Got it all freed up, sourced new rings, used jugs, and new everything else as I...
