Re: 1961 Rampside
Thanks Brad, I saw that article. I wish Clarks sold more body panels for the FC''s but what are you going to do. I have it registered on the Registry. It also looks like it was Omaha Orange like the Clarks truck, but it was actually born as Cardinal Red. Which am have been told fades to a orange ...

Re: 1961 Rampside
Thank you Brad for that very detailed reply.
I have two 102HP engines in various conditions. Honestly the 140HP is complete and just needs a freshen up to get it running. So that is why it is the winner!

1961 Rampside
New purchase, 1961 Rampside. Hasn't been registered since 1968. Was a forestry truck in its youth. I plan on putting a 140 in her and putting her back on the road.

Re: Sons first car
Welcome, you must have one in mind. Are you looking for a power plant? Do you want a good running unit or a one to rebuild?

Re: Hi all. New Corvair owner here.
You know funny story, my friends bought me the book "unsafe at any speed" and Ralph spent one chapter talking about the Corvair but He wasn't really "after" the Corvair but the car manufacturers in general. It is just GM didn't handle it very well and got the most press coverage. You could speculate ...

Re: Starting question
Okay I miss read you, so when it is cold before you start, if you work the throttle do you see gas getting squirted down the barrel? If you do, it must be the choke settings,
One pump of the throttle should set the choke and the fast idle when it is cold.

WOW!
That is a beauty! I like the '61s front emblem.
Even has the factory Hub caps. Those are a 60-61 year only.

Re: Starting question
Hello,
I like to start with the basics, did you do a compression test?
So even with starting fuild it is hard to start? That makes me think you have low compression until you get the block warmed up. Just my first guess.
