Re: Last drive of the year

I remember driving my Corvair 35 years ago (rebuild in progress) and scraping the ice on the inside of the windshield with a debit card. That’s cold! Here in PA, my friend took me for a ride in his beautiful ‘64 coupe today. The last ride of the season. You did a fantastic job on the coupe Sparrow! ...

Re: John’s 65 sedan

:ty: Thanks guys! Made it out to the shop today. Progress continues. The Phoenix is rising! I’m so looking forward to this summer and hopefully finishing off the car and getting some driving time in. The dashboard and steering column have been painted and they look great! That bronze paint lo...

Re: John’s 65 sedan

Thanks! It’s been a couple of weeks, but the progress on the ‘65 at the body shop continues. Recent updates include the painting of the hood, engine cover, and doors. Also the window chrome was all polished and is ready for installation. Today I received a couple of photos of the doors with the fres...

Re: Exhaust manifold mystery

One suggestion for removing the bolt is to weld a new nut to the head end of the bolt (down the inside). Then you could get a wrench on it and remove the bolt slowly. In the photo, I welded two nuts to broken bolts for my steering box bolts and the with some additional heat, they backed right out.

Re: John’s 65 sedan

:ty: Thanks Doug. I think the silver cove will complement well with the look I’m after. Earlier this week I ordered a new set of coil springs and also I picked up a set of rear trailing arms from a fellow club member. When the ‘65 gets home, I’ll start working on the suspension. I made it to the sho...

Re: John’s 65 sedan

Thanks guys. I was able to make a quick trip to the shop today. Progress continues between other jobs, but it really looks better in person. I didn’t even want to touch it! It’s half-way buffed out (first-pass). It looks gorgeous! The car previously had the rear cove painted Corsa Argent Silver, and...

Re: John’s 65 sedan

I’m going to have the shop install the front and rear windshields and trim, plus likely the rain gutter trim pieces. So tonight I received a few more updates. Wet sanding and buffing is just getting started. Wow does the paint reflection look DEEP! It’s just getting started and I can’t believe it. :...

Re: Van inner rear panel removal?

:ty:
That’s a helpful hint. Could make sense if there’s bolts holding it there. All others sides are free except the bottom.

Meanwhile, anyone else who could confirm or advise?

Will post photos once this is figured out.

Thanks!

Van inner rear panel removal?

:helpsos: Does anyone know how to remove the rear side inner panels for a Van? (Greenbrier in this case). This is the panel below the rear side window. It seems that the lower raised panels on the sides (battery cover, and under the spare tire) need to be removed to provide the clearance needed. To ...

Re: John’s 65 sedan

:ty: Thank you all for the kind comments! I’m really excited about how this is progressing. It’s looking absolutely fantastic and can’t wait to see it all in paint. Then there’s the interior color and I can’t wait to see that also along with the exterior. I think the color combination will be striki...

Re: John’s 65 sedan

:woo: The other day I received some progress photos of the car in the shop from my good friend and fellow club member. The wet sanding was underway. Getting closer to painting. Tonight, the owner of the shop sent me photos of the car in paint. When I saw them, it took my breath away. I think it look...
