Re: key in ACC position - GEN light comes on??
Thanks for the info. Once I replaced my internally regulated alternator with a stock external regulator set up, everything is working as it should. A dimly lit GEN light when the key is in ACC position and both idiot lights lit up when key is in ON position. Must have been some type of quirk with th...

key in ACC position - GEN light comes on??
1965 Corsa turbo - all stock. Stock alternator and external regulator, stock wiring, stock gauges. Alternator & charging system are all working properly. My weird problem is that my Generator light on the dash comes on when the key is turned to the ACC position (turned to the left). My other OIL...

Re: turbo boost exhaust leak
Took the car for a drive and I have more boost - probably up to 12-14 lbs after exhaust leak fix.
Seem to get the most boost while in 4th gear going up hill. 3rd gear provided boost but probably closer to 8-10 lbs. all the way to 6000 RPM's with pedal to the floor.
I'm calling it good enough for me.

turbo boost exhaust leak
1965 Corsa turbo - all stock. So I have been trying to get my turbo to produce boost since I bought the car 2 years ago. Here is what I have done to get the car running right and to get turbo working properly. - Had carburetor rebuilt by reputable Corvair guy ("Carbmeister", Wolf Enterpris...

Re: throttle linkage adjustment - 65 turbo
So I have corrected my throttle linkage. I replaced an aftermarket swivel joint linkage piece with the a stock linkage piece (the link from the crossover shaft to the carb). I also found that the cross shaft was installed backwards so I flipped it around and installed it correctly. After doing this ...

Re: throttle linkage adjustment - 65 turbo
My boost gauge does work - i tested it. Even if boost gauge didn't work, I would assume I would feel or hear something which I do not. I did find that my linkage cross shaft was installed backwards which may have kept my throttle/carb from reaching wide open. I have a few parts coming in the mail to...

Re: throttle linkage adjustment - 65 turbo
Thanks for the info. All of my throttle linkage components have been either replaced, refurbished, lubed, etc. All bushings, etc have been replaced with new parts from the pedal all the way to the carb. Everything moves freely and smoothly. So where I am at now is adjustment which is why I asked the...

throttle linkage adjustment - 65 turbo
My car is a 1965 Corsa turbo (all stock). I am not getting any boost from my turbo and I am thinking my problem may be that my throttle linkage is not adjusted properly which is not allowing me to get to wide open throttle when my gas pedal is fully depressed. My questions are: 1) How can I tell if/...

Re: Correct fuel pressure - 1965 Corsa Turbo
Thanks guys.
My car has the return line and I have no plans of eliminating it.
I will set at 2 PSI and see how it goes.

Re: Correct fuel pressure - 1965 Corsa Turbo
Thanks.
Yes, that's the page in the service manual that I read suggesting 4-5 lbs.
Yes, I have a Holley fuel pressure regulator already installed.
Should I set pressure to 2-2.5 lbs. or to 4-5 lbs.?

Correct fuel pressure - 1965 Corsa Turbo
What should the correct fuel pressure be for an all stock 1965 Corsa turbo car? I have a mechanical fuel pump with a fuel pressure regulator installed so I can control/set fuel pressure. I have read some posts on this forum where people suggest 2.5-3 lbs. as being correct for a turbo car. On page 6M...

1965, 1966 4 speed transmission swap
I have a 1965 Corsa turbo 4-speed car. It currently has a 1966 transmission and differential - this is the way the car was when I bought it. For various reasons, I will be removing the 66 trans/diff and installing a 65 trans/diff. My questions is, other than the 65 trans/diff that I need to find, wh...

new flywheel/clutch/pressure plate??
If I determine that I need a new clutch/pressure plate/flywheel is the best bet to simply order a matched set from Clark's or are there better options? I'm looking for straight forward, reliable, stock level replacement parts (not a hot rod). Car is a 1965 Corsa turbo with a 1966 model year transmis...
