Re: Rockauto F/C Brake Parts

You probably lost a spot welded on weight from the drum, nothing you can do but put one back on or replace it as you did. No signs of a big weight missing on that drum but maybe it was attached poorly so didn't stay long. The guy I bought it from in LA owned it for 2 years but never drove it except...

Re: Rockauto F/C Brake Parts

I just got four new drums and brake shoe sets from RockAuto but didn't want coated drums or the brake hardware so not the same kit parts you mention exactly. After suffering with a drum that turned out to be 9 oz out of balance , I decided to just get new parts all around and start out fresh. 9 ounc...

Re: RR Block Listed on e-bay at the moment.

I had a RR engine case listed on ebay as an auction with a low reserve that covered what I paid for it and then some. I was shocked when it sold for $2200 but clearly, two people were intently chasing it. The winning bidder told me it was the exact date range he had searched for for over 20 years an...

Re: Frocking AC car glove box

Nice work but did you mean to say "flocking"? I used to make little jewelry boxes and used the same process to line the drawer interior surfaces. Never heard it called frocking but who knows? Such as... https://www.ebay.com/itm/402605734623?itmmeta=01HSXD7BBRS1VQ5HW4CJV1PRB4&hash=item5...

Re: WTB: 65-69 Tunnel Cover, Long. ANY condition, including nearly scrap.

I found one tunnel cover I had with small issues but very usable. I'll sell it for $5 plus shipping. I don't have your full address but I checked shipping it to the USPS Post Office in Evington VA 24550 for instance and it was $30 to that location. Cutting it in half didn't change the shipping fees ...

Your PM message appeared to be stuck because it stays there until I actually open and read it. It should not be in your outbox now.

I'll check on shipping options and PM you back.

I have several in Phoenix that are in nice shape. Since you are paying shipping, do you want it full size, folded in half or cut exactly in half? I sell them for $40 + shipping and can send via UPS.

Re: LM Air conditioning

If you use the wall condenser, supposedly you don't need the switch to shut off the ac when engine lid is open. But I suspect ac system performance will suffer with air not going through its condenser without any fans. So add fans or the switch. If you use the 66+ style vertical condenser you do no...

Re: Detonation vs Preignition? 62 84hp

I'm not having any issues where a main jet would help. This is at idle and just off idle. My thoughts were that if you were running too lean and went up a jet size, then the engine would run cooler overall and would be less prone to rattle. With your latest post, it sounds like you will be able to ...

Re: Detonation vs Preignition? 62 84hp

I don't think anyone has mentioned carb jetting as part of the equation but a richer mixture will run cooler but won't help your gas mileage. I run 1-2 steps larger than stock on my 110 and 140 engines here in Phoenix. I sometimes will hear 2-3 knocks when leaving a stop light on a hot day. It is wh...

Re: Trusted Source for New Mechanical Fuel Pump

You ask what fails on the China pumps? On the early pump out of China I tested, they failed to drill the location hole for the set screw which allowed one to accidentally install the pump much lower than intended which put extra strain on the diaphragm. They fixed that eventually but it didn't reall...
