Allan,
So you are saying that this has never been done before. I wonder why? It seems like this would be about the first action to take RE: membership decrease. Why hasn't someone considered this before? Are we that far behind the curve? How many years now has the membership been decreasing and nobody has considered taking this action?

Back to square one
Let's start with some already experienced knowledge. Let's not begin in the middle of a plan, but at the beginning

Let's have a restart here.

Let's begin with a list of:::::

1) what suggestions have been previously made

2) what ideas have actually been tried

3) Assessment of the degree of success for each idea implemented.

4) being continued or terminated

Hi Bob,

I have been a CORSA member since 1988, but I have only been on the Board since July. I am not aware of any surveys of people who have dropped their membership.

Perhaps one has been conducted before. If so, it would be interesting to see the reasons why they dropped out. If not, then the time has come to do one.

Who would have retained the results of any prior surveys? The Membership Committee? The Business Office? The Board of Directors? It may be appropriate for the Membership Committee to do a survey to find out who did the survey! ::-):

I don't recall any talk of any surveys being done on former Corsa members. Supposedly one person had compiled info but he wanted to ransom that to Corsa for something, we never found out what he wanted. The same person supposedly had PDF copied all the back issues of the Communique and again he wanted to ransom that to Corsa for something, we never found out what he wanted. I'm beginning to think neither was ever completed.
Moral of the story? Other than what I mentioned I don't recall any surveys. Harry may have an answer.

This morning, I sent an email to Harry Jensen to see if he can recall any surveys. I'll let you know his response.

Follow up item: Harry Jensen does not remember any surveys. I asked him if he could create a list of members who dropped out over the past 12 members, with phone numbers and / or email addresses. Al

Another follow-up item: If the folks on the Membership Committee want to do a survey of former members, Harry can get a list of them for you. He confirmed this morning. All you have to do is ask him for the list. Al

Thanks Al, Now all we need to do is come up with a survey that is sort of non-intrusive.
