I'm corvair70,new member

Post by corvair70 »

Hello, Old Corvair "fan" here I had three in my youth. 61,wagon,62,Monza 4dr.,64 Monza 4dr.
I decided I needed another.Seemed everyone had a Monza so I looked for a 500 or 700 4 dr.
I found a 700 in Washington State that looked real good. Advertised as ready to drive as I did what ever else was needed.
It was priced so I could buy it and ship to Ny State for less than the typical drivable fixer upper reasonably close to me.
From my limited inspection there is a slim chance it is a survivor with 35000 miles on it.
Of course it could also have at least 135,000 miles as well.
Paint seems excellent though still covered with road grime from being shipped.
Way too cold here for a bath in the driveway.
Hope I can offer some of my 50 years of auto fun and experience.
Spike

:welcome2:  Welcome to the Corvair Forum, and welcome back to the world of Corvair ownership! I think I know how it feels. I always had at least one Corvair in my life from the time I was eight years old when my parents bought their first... a new 1961 Monza coupe, until 1995, when I sold my 1965 Corsa convertible as I was preparing to retire from the Air Force. A changing employment situation and two teenage boys were the priority, and I felt I had to let it go because it needed work that I had neither the funds or the time to deal with. MISTAKE! But the Corvair was gone and I went without a Corvair in my life from 1995 until 2012 when, like you, I decided that I needed a Corvair back in my life!

So welcome, and we now have another reason to look forward to the spring thaw... a chance for you to clean up your new Corvair so that you can rediscover Corvair ownership and tell us all about it here on the Corvair Forum! Pictures too, please!
