OK -- time to get serious -- Vote for UNSAFE or else :rafman:

Don't let all those decals sway you ::-):

This video is from the drag races at the 2013 Corvair Olympics put on by the NECC.

It features me against two of the fastest Corvairs there -- yeah I got beat.

The first race is against a NASCAR spec 355 small block V8.

The second is against Billy Bruces purpose built turbo drag car that runs high 11s or low 13s in the qtr.

Billy did blow his motor against me and if you listen carefully you can hear him mention "over-revving and 7500 rpm"

I busted a lug clean of of my left outside U-joint but my LeVair Performance upper strut kept it from falling out and I ended up making about a dozen runs before I quit.

I missed third gear against the V8 - he'da likely beat me anyway -- but maybe not by as much.

Congatulations Rick Norris Sr.! Even though my car came in last place, I am honored it was among such great company!

Well these are some of my favorite cars ever. As has been shown Kevins car is worthy of Corvair of the year! Seeing Kevins car in person really shows how well engineered it is and the fact it was driven by three different drivers makes it clear it was built to be driven. Rick's Sonoco Race car is just crazy in how well thought out and executed a race car can get. While Daves and my car represent drivers they are both 100 mph+ cars that do get driven. I recently traded mine but took it on a 1000 mile farewell journey and it responded perfectly without an issue, not bad for being buried in the ice this time last year. All these contestants do a great service for the Corvair community and all deserve to be recognized for that. Thank you all! Great cars, great Corvair people!
