The Kelmark bellhousing connects to the Differential not the transmission. If you want the one that connects to the transmission you want a Crown.

I don't think that a Crown used an adapter? I believe that it used a custom front trans crossmember that bolted up to a standard Chev bellhousing?

I think you are correct. I can't remember how it bolted up. I guess the standard bellhousing bolt hole are in the Corvair transmission?

A great picture of the support. A fellow in our club had a Crown conversion and talked to us about issues he had.

Note the "lip" machined around the hole. That is to align the transmission modified with the Crown parts to the belhousing. Making the transmission fit here is critical as it is shallow. Installing a gasket here can be an issue. The other Crown issue is "dialing" in the bellhousing center it to the pilot bearing. Per the Crown folks this is important to ensure the longevity of the input shaft and clutch gear.

The lip around the hole for the front bearing would be for the snap ring to fit in. It is the same lip as the front bearing retainer used in a Corvair or front engine rear drive car.
