Posting pictures in parts for sale
I am 72 years old and am not a computer geek! What is the easiest way to post pics for my for sale items?Do I need an external server to do it?Can I post from my phone or just my home computer?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Thumper.
Re: Posting pictures in parts for sale
It all depends on how comfortable you are with your phone or computer. I would say if you're good at taking pictures with your phone stick with using your phone. Take a picture on your phone and then attach it to the post from your phone where it's stored.
I have an Android phone so I use Google photos so when I take a picture it uploads to photos from my phone and stores it there automagically. If I then decide I want to post from my computer I can download it from there and attach it, or edit/crop the picture etc.. and post. When it comes to the Corvair I keep a folder on my desktop and save what I download from Google Photos as there's a good chance I'll use it again, or use it to compare while I'm researching online. I personally like to work on a computer cause I like a bigger screen, but if I end up stuck waiting someplace I'll pull out my phone and try and be productive doing something, even if it's just watching a davemotohead video or something. So I do both, but prefer the bigger screen of a computer when possible.

I don't have a phone for taking pictures so I load pictures from my camera into my computer and use the "attachments" feature here. I'm not very computer or phone savvy either.

It works the same from your phone and computer.vairyscary477 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 12:56 pm I am 72 years old and am not a computer geek! What is the easiest way to post pics for my for sale items?Do I need an external server to do it?Can I post from my phone or just my home computer?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Thumper.
Click on the word "Sections" (upper left).
Scroll down to the "Classifieds" section and click on the name of the section you want to post in, for example "Parts for Sale".
Click on "New Topic" (left hand side-just above the blue bar).
Ad the subject in the subject line. Type your text in the text box below that.
Scroll down and click on "Attachments".
Click on" Add Files" box.
That will bring up a pop up where can and ad the photos you want.
From there you have the option to "place inline" and it will ad the photo where your current cursor is in the text body (Which is how I have these pictures). (However, you do not have to use the "place inline' option. If you do not use it, the pictures will be at the bottom of the post like the Daisy BB gun van below.)
You can now hit "preview" to see what it will look like or just hit "Submit"
