I'm not even sure what qualifies as a "smokin' deal" anymore in this inflationary environment, but here's a sweet (original?!) EM convertible for $15K. It says it was owned by a Chevy dealer. Man, that body sure looks arrow-straight!! I'm tempted for sure! Check out the Pellini Chevrolet license plate frames on the plates!

Corvair 1963 - $15,500 (San Diego)

"This car belonged to a Chevrolet dealership owner up in Sebastapol, California named Pellini, who closed it's doors in 2008.
He had this and many other vehicles from different Chevrolet eras in his floor sales as part of the showroom."

Oops, this 1960 just sold but I'll share it here for reference. It was on Facebook marketplace for $3600, and near me. I was tempted to check it out after Christmas but someone snapped it up already. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 7127759470

Good running 1962 Chevy corvair monza 4 door automatic. Powerglide transmission with dual carb engine. Carbs were rebuilt a year ago, new fuel sender unit, new parking brake cable, heat, cold air, and defrost work. Wipers need some attention, might be just a fuse but I don’t know. The car just sits there and needs to be driven and appreciated. It’s got a great patina look to it, but no insane rot. Just a few little spots in the lower driver door. I’m just trying to recoup some of the money invested. It’s a fun car and easy to drive.

$3600

66 Corvair V8 Conversion - $2,500 (sanger)

https://fresno.craigslist.org/cto/d/san ... 78754.html

Some might think this isn't exactly a deal, but I think it's decent......not to mention how often you'll find something like this, much less rust-free. With the bellhousing so far back, I'm thinking maybe it's a Kelmark setup. "Just add smallblock".....or maybe I'll run up & snatch 'er up. ;)

"66 Chevy Corvair with what looks like a Crown Conversion, was a running car, set up for small block chevy mid-engine, 4 speed manual, off DMV records, zero rust, have all glass, wiring and dash, no engine, might consider interesting trades (no bikes or boats) $2500"

What a beauty! That's exactly the car I'd get if I was just starting out. Love that blue. I'd fly into Alabama and make a leisurely drive back to LA.

Here's a running 1968 LM parts mobile. Not a bad price I think for so many good parts, plus it's got those nice sporty small bucket seats! I'm tempted!

I was thinking......just imagine how cool and easy for anyone who bought a nice LM rolling chassis to switch over all parts and get it finished, and with all the correct factory fasteners!

It seems I've seen SO MANY stripped down bare corvairs out there for sale over the years (hardtop and convertible). I guess people tear into them and all the parts/nuts/bolts get lost! Then they get sold cheap!

Hose it off and drive away! That's a lot of floor rust for a car in Cali. Makes my sled look good though!

That's from years of water leaking in from the rust holes at the base of the windshield and soaking the carpet. I don't see too many other bubbles of rust on the rest of the car, like the rockers look pretty amazing!
