Corvair Overhead Camshaft Conversion

Found out something new to me today.

Valves are CANTED.Not in a nice straight row so you can put a camshaft right above it.

Straightening out the valves might be a good way to go.

Would help if this can be done to an existing head short of casting up a new head.

I do not see why they can't be.

Then it would be back to moving the camshaft up on top of head and driving it off of the crank.

Goal is to 'blaze the trail' and get a working version and then let other enthusiasts refine it.

I believe the Vair 6 has a lot of potential, "with" the right hot rodding parts. Aluminum billet cylinders = any bore that fits,(check) Aluminum, liquid cooled
2 valve, overhead valve/cam, heads,(check). Question is how much hp. can a prepped stock crank, sustain ? :my02:
