Telescopic Steering Reassembly

Does anyone have a detailed diagram or instructions of how to assemble the telescopic steering components? I've got the exploded parts diagram, but I need details to put it back together. 65 Monza- I took the steering wheel off to repair turn signal switch, and I purchased a horn button assembly for a 65 Corvette thinking that will fit this column. From the turn signal switch, in what order/how does the spring, nut, horn and steering wheel go on? The threaded cog that is held by 2 machine screws has a red mark, the plate has a red mark, and the stop post is marked red, but trying to line these up doesn't work and the tightening ring is either too loose or too tight for adjustment. How is the horn button energized? I see no wires. If only I had taken photos as I disassembled the parts.
