My 66 Coupe has 15" x 7" US Mag UT-102 wheels. Not the ideal back spacing at 3.75, but no tire clearance issues with the Goodyear Comfortread tire P205/60R15. With car on tires and 270 lb friend on the fenders, no fender contact was made with the tires.


My 66 More Door has 15x6 Vision Ralley wheels 55-5661. Again, not the ideal backspacing at 4". No tire clearance issues with the Goodyear Comfortread tire P195/60R15. Goodyear techs confirmed there would be no contact with fenders. The P205/60R15 tires I requested made contact with fenders. I found the center caps on ebay. They are mid-60s Corvette centers with 66 Corvair wire wheel spinner bars fitted. Fit the car great, too bad the vendor didn't balance them.

Mine are BMW wheels, I converted to 5 lug, same bolt pattern as the LM. Side note, I can't figure out why those chicks aren't riding with me...

I don't have any real good pictures of what I have done, so I'll just post what I do have.
I personally like the factory Chevrolet Rallye Wheel of the '60s.
I am currently running a set of 15' 1967 factory wheels off of a Corvette.
Up until 1968, they used the "Low-Hat" center cap, so that is what I have on my '67 Vert.
It gives the car an upgraded wheel and tire arrangement from stock, while still appearing factory installed.
I like some contrast on the exterior of a car, and especially if it is plain-Jane white, as mine is.
So, in that theme, I have a blue interior, so I painted the centers of my wheels blue, along with the rear engine cove.
I also painted the bottom of the car from the body crease just above the rocker-spears downwards, in the same blue.
Don't know what others think of it, but I like it.

-1) 15x6 Rocket Igniter wheels installed in 2012 with Corvette / Z28 wheel studs from Dorman (Part # 610 259-1) and custom-machined hub-centric rings from a company named "Motorsport Tech".

The wheel studs are longer than stock to accommodate the aluminum wheels.

The hub-centric rings are made of aluminum and measure 70.69 mm ID, 78.23 mm OD. They are somewhere between 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick. They fit nice & tight, which is to say perfectly.

I was looking for something period-correct, so when I went shopping for wheels, I was hoping to score a set of real Halibrand kidney bean wheels, but they went out of production and even used ones are ridiculously expensive.

Tires are 205/55R15.

A few years ago before I swapped exhaust to the large extractors.

Datsun, or do you say Nissan, 280ZX 15x6 wheels. I've had them on the car since 2008'ish!

It depends on the year.
If I remember the years correctly,.....
1982 and earlier, it was just Datsun.
During 1983, it was "DATSUN, by Nissan"
During 1984, it was "NISSAN, by Datsun."
And finally, in 1985, it just simply became NISSAN.
This switch-over was quite evident on the backs of their little pick-ups where the smaller wording was printed out, below and to the right of the large branding in the middle of the tailgate.

Addittional note, the Turbo 280Z's had five lug wheels.
