That looks like quite a sewing machine, don't get the presser foot to tight & pucker the material. To bad it didn't have a walking foot with the the long arm. Keep us posted. :tu:

Jeff - That actually IS a walking foot machine. It also sews in all 360 degrees.
It is an 1867 Emile James Politype boot patching machine. I collect, restore, and show Victorian era sewing machines. My earliest was made during the Civil war...

Made some serious progress this weekend.

This is the first coat. Block standing and some spot filling will still be needed before it is done. The issue has been drawing the line as to where to stop on the bodywork. This is planned to be a driver and race toy, not a "show winner", so perfectly straight is not needed.

another weekend, another update...

Found a local Glass guy that sold me a new windshield for $125 +$10 to deliver it Saturday morning. Not bad.
.....And they gave me spacer blocks after I asked about them.

Just set into place to check fit....
20151024_112833.jpg
I got a second coat on Saturday am and then the third Sunday about noon. I added the stripes to the frunk Sunday evening (just had to see it). I will be adding the front drop stripes and doing the roof and the tail next week The plan is to then mask off the stripes and paint the final blue layer. That way they will be level for the final sand/polish.

I will be finishing up the fabrication of a "TinTail" to attach to the deck lid during the week. (That is why the dents are not removed in the deck lid)

Got the deck lid finished and re-attached

Looking good. the dents are not an issue, because I am making a "TinTail"
20151115_151937.jpg
Here is the beginning of the TinTail, I used 2 of these (because my brake is not wide enough to bend it as a whole piece)

And two of these. (Cut on a B2 Beverly bench Shear)

Shaping the ends is a snap

and with the stripe painted on
20151122_144904.jpg
Love the "Stinger pose" with the tail up
20151122_145325.jpg
got the cove painted and ready for the install of lights and trim.
20151122_151813.jpg
I was getting ready to get the rear glass back in when i realized I had ordered the wrong clip styles (post/peg vs screw) So, I just ordered (with priority shipment) more clips and the correct posts to be able to get the glass back in this week. Most everything else is ready to install but the seats and door panels. we are hoping to get those made up this week as well

Slap a seat in there, get her registered, thumb nose at neighbors and HOA. Can't believe you did it, and today is Thanksgiving.

And as Code Enforcement and others will not be working before Monday, you have a few days of 'grace' work time between now and then...

Good show! Today you have something to be Thankful for!

Good luck with your project...

No real updates for the last week and a half. Work has been nuts and my wife brought a nasty cold home from the school where she works. I have had NO free time.

I managed to get the last 4 orders for TinTail's done. they are shipping WAY late (today) but they are shipping... (sorry guys)

However, one trip to the DMV and this photo got the HOA off my @$$!!!! (registered)
