Thanks for the encouragement. The Snowcaine metal flake just didn't have the look so I went with just gold metal flake. I'm hoping to have it on the road by spring

It reminds me of motorcycle helmets, hot tubs and boats of the 70s.

I’m gonna take a couple of days off so I flipped the circuit breakers on the compressor and the hot water heater. Shut off the water , drained the pipes. When I turned around in the bathroom door, this is what I saw in the room with no lights on.

Still more to do but I am digging what I am seeing

That's gonna be cool. Looks good and a ton of work for sure.

I'm not a painter, but flake is very sensitive to the direction it lays down. May just have areas of flake that laid down at a little different angle and reflects light differently.
Cheers!

Thanks Shane,
I'm using Dupli Color Paint Shop lacquer. Instead of painting normally, I am fogging on the clear with the metal flake in the clear. It takes a lot more paint and time. I figure that I have about 75 to80% of the white color covered at this pint. MAybe 4 more coats of flake and and then bury it all in lots of clear so I can cut and buff.

I changed the method of applying the metal flake on the Corvair. I have been using a wet application. Today I tried a dry flake application. Turns out to be a 2 person job. But it does work well. These pictures are not of finished product. The inside of the trunk lids was about 25% covered until today. I’m pretty stoked.

I have always had a thing for heavy metal flake. I used a .008 flake on the car to this point. The dry flake process allows me to use some heavier flake.
Guess what I brought to the garage this morning
Inside the jar lid is .015 flake against already sprayed .008

I was there too. We should have had an introduction of who each person was on the forums so we could put a face with the user id.

Good event! Even though I didn't win it, thanks to Seth Emerson for donating a brand new distributor!

There was about 5 guys there that I recognized from about 5 years ago.
I think the idea of introducing everyone would be a good idea
