I’m at a cross roads in my build to plan for racing or not. Either remove the heater assemblies for weight savings or keep them and spend the money to hook them up right.
I was wondering if anyone made a replacement lower shroud that was open towards the front of the car to scoop up more air, but had some kind of screen mesh to keep rocks and debris out? Or possibly a complete engine tin kit out of aluminum that was better designed to cool the engine instead of worrying about sending heat to the passengers?

I think such an open front shroud would be counter productive. Just leaving the lower shrouds off will help airflow under the car pull air down trough and away from the heads. Opening the front so air is forced in to the heads might force some air up against the airflow from the fan possibly producing some reverse flow. Have never seen even racers do this.
