We've been trying to rewire her car. I used a partial wiring harness out of a 64 parts car I have to clean up the wiring in the engine compartment.

Now, the tail lights and brake lights work fine until you turn on the ignition. Then the drivers tail light and pass. brake light light up.

The wiring under the dash is all screwed up and needs to be gone through too.

Candi, I didn't know if you had made a list of stuff to do yet so while I was thinking about it I added what I could remember below.

Done
cleaned up wiring in the engine compartment
rebuilt the carbs
Added a set of hubcaps
replaced the goofy aftermarket ignition switch with the one from 64 parts car
put on the tail light lenses from my 64 parts car (since the 63 ones were badly faded).
added seat belts
new alternator
new wires
new plugs
fixed wiring issues
brakes
clutch cable adjust
hook up gen light
rear shocks
change out locks for the ones from my 64 so she has keys
fixed glove box and glove box lid

Still left to do:

Get another trunk lid
parking brake adjust
headlight adjusters are broken, need replacement
buff the paint
fix horn
fix gas gauge
fix dash lights
move elec fuel pump to near gas tank
mount stereo (so it doesn't fall on my head again)
make sure cooling fins and oil cooler are clear
clean and detail engine
replace steel eng. compartment fuel lines

Welcome Candi. Dont they all need a passenger side u-joint? At least the earlys. Did you check for excessive play on the output shaft on the rt side?

Well we got her to a cruise night for the first time. She broke down on the way to it and on the way home. The alternator failed. We got her home safely and will fix the alternator tomorrow hopefully.
