Splitting Weber DCOE 40 Carb
Looking for information on splitting a weber 40 mm carb so one barrel acts as a primary and the other as a secondary will deliver the fuel more progressively to the turbo engine. Warren Leveque Corvair racer and tunner.

It's his mod, why not ask him? You can find his contact info out on the web, or just your carb to him for the mods.

Do you know anyone who has had this mod, and if so is this something that works well for the street and is it worth it?

Depends, do you care how it runs? Some find the off idle stumble objectionable, others do not. They can work well without being modified, on the other hand if you don't know how to jet it properly it's not gonna run right either way.

Thanks just the info I was looking for. Will wait and see how it runs as is and go from there.

Off idle stumble was in reference to an unmodified carb BTW, since both throttle plates open at the same time the inrush of air can sometimes cause a stumble. This is what the progressive mod is meant to cure.

you can also look @ http://www.american-pi.com/corvair/html/turbo.html they have info about the split dcoe.......they call it a progressive conversion cuz it makes the doce a progressive 2bbl.
