Barrett Jackson Corvair

Post by MBlaster1 »

Here is the only Corvair in Barrett Jackson Palm Beach, went cheap. just goes to show that most car collectors don't know the true value of these cars.

$2860 could be fair or high depending on the condition - you cant tell by the pics & theres almost nothing in the desc text.

dont know what the engine is 110 or 140 or how it runs. its a pg car - stick cars go for more $$. missing windsheild trim - missing pass door panel - dont know if its missing the other panels. 66 tail lites & 65 back up lites. says it has a/c but no pics if any of the a/c parts are left in the engine or if the a/c works. the black flat/satin paint can hide all kinds of trouble. the left 1/4 looks real mudded - maybe lots of body damage.

just what can be seen - almost $3 seems high. if the a/c blows cold / theres no rust / no major body damage & its a good running 140 - the price is fair.

Barrett Jackson doesn't sell rusty or junky cars so I assume it's in good shape.

Apparently the market is adjusting back to normal after Lambrecht...a good thing.

Oh really? I've seen bondo buckets come though BJ in Scottsdale. I know they aren't that picky from what I have seen go across the block.

The seller couldn't even get the ad correct on another site. Listed as a 63 and asking over $12K. They are just looking for a sucker to reel in.

BTW, VIN for future reference is listed as 105376W120098

Well usually when you buy a car through them you expect a certain level quality. With that being said a few lemons slip in.

this car was originally white. It does run and sound good. I watched them do the body work. its not filled with bondo, car was pretty straight. I was interested in buying before they repainted it but I am in the process of restoring my own 64 vert

Same car just sold at BJ for under $3000. Speculators buy cars all day long to try to flip them for profit. Sometimes they win...sometimes they lose.

Do you remember it is a 4 or 6 cylinder car? Why would these posts post 4
cylinder?

Here is the original car from Barrett Jackson. It says 6 cylinders.

Also, do you remember any issues with the car? Rust? Transmission? Runs
well? Original engine? AC work?

Engine would have been a 110 hp 164 cubic inch six. All Corvairs were air cooled "pancake" six cylinder engines.

1960: 140 CI

1961-1963: 145 CI

1964-1969: 164 CI
