I've always said it's not the car or how it's built that will hurt you....the problem has always been the loose nut behind the steering wheel. This article just reinforced that belief. In the article the author referred to a "driver's unfamiliarity with cars that oversteer". A reference was made to "normal driving" and the Corvair has no issues on the road. My "normal" driving is a tad bit more aggressive than most but certainly not so aggressive that I've had to deal with any peculiarities the Corvair has. Knowing I was going to do a total rebuild on my Corvair when I got it I literally ran the (substitute any descriptive word you have here) out of the little car and I couldn't break it.
