evening orchid
Just last weekend brought home a 1965 corsa convertible that I am going to part out, what are the chances that this car and my current 65 corsa are both evening orchid cars, one from willow run and the parts car from los angeles. is it possible to have a same number of car made from a different plant.

Re: evening orchid
Each plant starts the new model year with a "sequence number", typically 100,001 which becomes the last 6 digits of the VIN - so from the VIN standpoint - yes the sequence number is repeated...
Then on the body tag you will see something like "65-10737 WRN 5952" which means 1965 107 (Corsa) 37 (2-door hardtop) WRN (Willow Run) and then the 5952 is the count of the 10737 body in the model year.
So, yes, this 5952 could be duplicated within the same plant, and across plants.
Hope it helps...

Below is a sample Body Tag with a quick breakdown of the codes. The production sequence number from each plant could be the same, since it is only a sequence number. The VIN tags could also have the same serial number, but NOT from the same production facility (Willow Run or Van Nuys) and model year.Just last weekend brought home a 1965 corsa convertible that I am going to part out, what are the chances that this car and my current 65 corsa are both evening orchid cars, one from willow run and the parts car from los angeles. is it possible to have a same number of car made from a different plant.
"P" Evening Orchid Poly.
The above sample body tag is from a 1965 (65) Chevrolet (1) Corvair Monza (05) Coupe (37) Produced at Willow Run, Michigan (WRN) with a production sequence number of 58490.
The interior TRim color was WHITE with BLACK Carpet and Instrument Panel (798).
The body paint color was EVENING ORCHARD (P-P)
