Are you the one who owns Kennen Classic Cars? I had that already on the map, but I went ahead and added your info.

I have absolutely zero people in the LA/San Bernardino area and one person in San Diego. I know there are way more Corvair people than that, that are willing to help out some fellow Corvair owners.

On that note, we could use some more people all together.

In S. Calif. there is Dave Stratlund's Mobile Corvair service and of course there is Jeff's shop - California Corvair. Frankly I stopped helping folks that showed up at our club. They would tell a great story and then after you helped them get the car running you'd never hear from them or discover they used your free help to get the car running to "FLIP" it on a fast sale. I do help folks who are long term Corvair owners, but tell the rest "Sorry you need to call a qualified shop" and I give them Jeff's and Dave's number.

Sadly there are some real moochers out there.
I added Dave Statland's info.

It's unfortunate that you feel that way, but I understand the frustration of helping people and they don't keep their cars or don't want to be a part of a club. Unless they tell you what their plans are for the car outright, it's hard to differentiate between people who have a car that they inherited and don't want to really keep or somebody who just got into the hobby and bought a Corvair for the first time.

I am not a repair shop. I won't do any heavy mechanical work but I can assist if anyone happens to break down in my area. I will perform roadside assistance depending on distance and I feel that my assistance will be successful. Knowing that if you do break down it's nice to have a friendly car guy that can come to your aid means a lot. It eliminates that helpless feeling we all get at that moment. I can also help diagnose any problems having over 30 years experience with restoring and repairing various Chevrolet models from the 70's and older.

I am very new to car mechanics and Corvairs but I have some tools. I will most likely be the one asking for help.
