Good Dial Indicator

Post by JP_REX »

Hi Folks,
I need a dial indicator with a magnetic base/articulating arm for several upcoming jobs. Can anyone recommend a reasonable quality unit for a reasonable price?

Thanks!

mitutoyo or Starrett. Also, if you want super accurate, get it checked out at a local calibration house.

The cheapo harbor freight, etc do not hold calibration well, and wear.

I've been responsible for calibration and purchasing Gage's at work, in a machine shop environment- for me, the extra money is worth it- even if you buy on eBay, then take to a cal shop for a refreshing.

Brown & Sharpe are also very good in my experience.
