corsa brakes

Post by Mbrannon64 »

I have a 1965 corsa. After it sits for a few weeks it seems lIke the brake is on. When I go to drive it again. After I get it rolling its fine. This time it's been sitting for about a month went to move it yesterday and it will not move forward. It will go backwards easily and the
Parkng brake is not on. I seldom to never use the parking brake. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

When it does this you need to jack it up and see which wheel(s) are locked up. My guess is shoes adjusted too tight, stuck wheel cyl., broken hold down spring or broken return spring. Only inspection will narrow it down, but it NEEDS addressed, it's your BRAKES. The rolling one way but not the other is normal, for a dragging shoe, since the design is the self energizing type.
