Carter YH carb choke setup

Post by firstgencamarojunkie »

My Corsa runs pretty well when warmed up - but - does not like to run cold. I suspect I have not installed the choke properly. I'm using the electric choke option - but - looking at the drawing attached I'm not sure the orientation of part #1, the sequence in which it's installed, and where the two spring tangs attach to. Do you first install #1, then #2? Or the other way around? Do I have #1 oriented properly, or do I need to flip it over? Where are the points to where the little springs attach? Any help - or a picture - would be appreciated. Mr. Heldt's book is silent on this subject so I'm a bit lost - thanks - Andy.

#1 goes on #2 shaft.

look @ the tang/lever........you can see how the spring goes. the spring lets #2 shaft move....open/close & keeps the fast cam touching the lever. the fast cam should be off the lever w/the choke open & on the big part of the cam w/the choke shut.
