Steering box is weeping - my question is buy a "new" one or replace seals. Thanks in advance.

Steering box

Mine craps grease mix out of the bottom. I just keep it filled. There's no play in it otherwise. It's your call. If there's no play maybe you could just clean it all and reseal it.

I see the zerk fitting is that to add more grease? Mine doesn't have that, and I fill it with the recommended mix of gear oil and grease.

I just added new gear oil to my steering box. I used this:

You can get it from: http://www.restorationstuff.com

It is part # LUB009.

It will cost you - their shipping is expensive but it seems like good stuff and the claim is it controls leaking. I haven't had it in there long enough to know if that is true or not.

Thanks. Not sure about the zerk fitting - came with the car....along with badly fixed floor panels covered with a whole lot of bondo.[emoji36]
