Electric choke installation.

Post by cwhunt »

I drove my '63 Monza Spyder for a month before I realized that there was an electric choke installed but not wired on the Carter YH carburetor. I finally got around to wiring it today. It worked as advertised with one issue. I wired it to the ignition wire in the engine bay. When I put the multimeter on the electric choke it reads 2.32 volts which I expect, but the voltage drop triggers the gen/fan light. I have an alternator installed and it's wired to the battery and ground.
Do I have the right wire?
