I am adding a Stinger distributor to my '65 Corsa with a recommended coil. If I take a voltage reading at the yellow wire coming off the starter should I see full voltage or something close to what the battery is putting out when the engine is running? It is my understanding that the connector in the engine compartment (that has the yellow and purple wires off the starter) has the two wires (one is a resistor wire) that are connected together and attached to the yellow wire off the starter. Are these the wires to delete and a new wire added that will go to the coil.
Thanks
Jeff

Re: One more ignition question
Thi illustration below shows where a continuous 12 VDC is provided to the multi-pin connector from the ignition switch. The resistor wire reduces this voltage to a nominal 7 VDC for normal operation. When the starter solenoid is engaged (Key turned to START to provide 12 VDC via the PPL wire connected to the solenoid) the solenoid feeds 12 VDC to the wiring junction point, where the higher voltage supersedes the lower 7 VDC as long as the starter solenoid is engaged.
