Front trunk bracket on a '64 convertable ?

Would appreciate if someone could recognize this bracket I have under the front trunk, roughly above the glove box on the passenger side. It's about 2" long. Not sure if this is something installed by a previous owner, or something purposefully installed by the factory. I find it on my ’64 Spyder convertible, but do not have one on my ‘63 Monza Coupe. It looks like it could be a bracket hold down for something. :dontknow:
