Removing Steering wheel and column

Post by Mr.G »

1964 Spyder
I'm in the process of painting all the interior metal. Next project is the steering column. If I remove the outside wiring and remove the bracket and bolts at the base will I be able to remove it ? Or do I need to do more ?

You will need to pull the steering wheel too. The column will slide up and off the steering shaft. If you want the shaft out of the way, you have to pull the shaft/steering box assembly out from the bottom.
