That is a great car to start on, shouldn't be that hard to get back in shape!

Man, that thing is NICE! Geez, I'd love to have something like that. Looks very "barn-find-ish" If that's in 2010, how does it look now? Same?

Bobby65, I guess living in good ole Az and finding original cars out here has it's bennies. I've been to Mich. once and it was in Jan. about 1967, and my brother and I did some Ice fishing on Lake St. Clair. He was stationed at Selfridge A.F.B. at the time. I was lucky enough to spend most of my Air Force career here in Az.('68-'88).

Now I'm a little jealous. I spent 24 Air Force years (1972-1996) stationed in six states and three foreign countries (plus numerous TDYs in dozens of other states and countries). And I thought my career was fairly family-stable, with only two one-year remote assignments to Korea and one lengthy trip to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where I was separated from my family!

How did you do it all in one state? :USA:  :tu: Must have been the career field! ::-):

Brad, Ron here. I guess some one was watching over me. In '69 I went to Nam for 12 months, back to Luke AFB, Az in '70. Then in '78 went to Okinawa Japan for 18 months and came back to , you guessed it, Az. Then retired here in '88. The rest is as they say "History".

Excellent looking engine, I saved the pics as a benchmark. Looks like a great solid car!

Sam, and Jeremy, thanks for your comments.

Bobby, since I'm totally retired and have all this so called free time (Ha, Ha. ) it probably took me about 2-3 weeks. Some of that time was due to taking the sheet metal pans to a radiator shop to have them stripped. It was a lot of degreasing and resealing but worth it. I also put the Viton seals on the pushrod tubes and painted the halves with that special heat resistant paint. From what I've read and heard that should keep them from leaking for a while.
Thanks!
Ron
