Don't they build or make anything that is plain or ugly in Norway??? Even a Norwegian pizza must look like a work of art!
Well im not rich.. After all the bills are paid there is not so much money to "play".
I guess the pay check is a little bit higher here, but it dosnt help so much since everything is crazy expensive.

Germans that visits Norway in they're RV's fill them up with all they need. Talked to some and they're goal is to only Buy diesel or petrol when they are here.. That tellls much in my opinion.

There are ugly places in Norway also, but overall its a Nice country with sometimes extreme scenery

Took the Vair out for couple of hours yesterday.
I stopped by the DMV and checked the weight on it after taking some stuff of and in with stuff like roll cage etc.
With half full tank i ended up with 1060kg or 2336 lbs if you want

The car handles like a gocart and its hella quick, this car just makes a smile on my face when i drive it :stinger:

And the seats are in place, i will change the color stitching on them at a later point in either the blue in the stripes or the orange

According to the 1961 GM Heritage Center specifications, a full tank of gasoline adds 86 lbs to the shipping weight to reach "curb weight". So with ½ tank of fuel (43 lbs.), the 1961 Model 527 2-Door Coupe would weigh approximately 2363 lbs. It looks like your Corvair has lost 27 lbs. on its "diet" (assuming exactly ½ tank of fuel on-board).

1961 CORVAIR 2-DOOR COUPE SHIPPING WEIGHT

MODEL 527: 2320 lbs.

MODEL 727: 2350 lbs.

MODEL 927: 2395 lbs.

Looking forward to your surprise (mystery) announcement... :dontknow:

Still don't believe what I'm going to announce :tu:

I can only imagine the attention your car would receive in Norway...a beautiful car for a beautiful Country! I spent some time in Oslo a few years back, loved the city and scenery. I know what you mean about things being cheaper in Sweden...and by all accounts Sweden is expensive compared to other countries in Europe! Out of my 3 weeks in Scandinavia, Stockholm, Helsinki, & Oslo were highlights I won't soon forget!

Keep those builds coming!
Thank you very much for the nice comment about my Vair :tu:

I live around 6.5 hour drive from Oslo, drive out from Oslo and up the country then you have really scenery.
I live about 40 minutes from what is called Top #3 Roads You Have to Drive in Your Lifetime and about an hour from number #19
http://twistedsifter.com/2013/03/roads- ... e-you-die/

And yes you will get pictures of my Vair in these places this summer

Talking about prices in Norway vs Sweden....
A new Camaro cost $47,840 in Sweden. Wanna guess the price in Norway?....well it costs $240,000 (yes that amount is correct! and thats for a 6.2 SS)
A gallon of fuel cost right over $10.00
We have the second most expensive Big Mac burger going for over $8 dollars for only the burger.
U.S. News & World Report has put out a list of the 15 most expensive places to visit, based on things like the price of hotel rooms, food, and other expenses.

And I’ve got some bad news if you’re looking to visit Europe on the cheap: TEN of the 15 most expensive cities are located in Europe.

Oslo, Norway topped the list. Its hotel rooms are a fairly reasonable $169 per night, but other things are astronomically expensive. Something like a bottle of water can cost travelers upwards of $6.

Ahh i need to stop, getting all depressed here :td: .......
I'll post one more picture from the photoshoot insted

Image
I remember as well something about outrageous prices for new cars when I was visiting Denmark...something like 110% tax added to the sticker price?? It was nuts...but I guess relevant to the other costs of living!!

I really did enjoy my time in your part of the world and look to get back again for another visit. My wife is from Ireland (Dublin) so we travel there fairly often to visit family...maybe next time a quick side trip back to Scandinavia!!

So i have been fairly busy the last week +.
Been detailing a 1932 Ford Roadster every day and night after work including two weekends to get the Roadster up in Shine.
The car belongs to a friend of my brother that has lived in Spain for a year and took the Roadster back home now in June after he moved back to Norway.
He is now moving to Florida so my brother is going to sell the car for him. The owner lives 850 Miles up north from us and it easier to sell such a car lower down in Norway.

I am a detailer in profession and i think this Hot Rod came out super nice, time consuming project but fun when you see the result after countless hours.

As to the surprise news, i have been waiting to be allowed to talk about it, but hopefully tomorrow :).

:explosion: :funnypost: I liked your presentation of the Ford Roadster and your Corvair, to the point where I posted some of your pictures and the Corvair Forum link to your thread on several Facebook Corvair-related web pages, including...

Image

Corvair Society Of America https://www.facebook.com/groups/118663409016/

Corvair Owners Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/154921441224980/

Corvair https://www.facebook.com/groups/2224315211/

Corvair Nuts of North America https://www.facebook.com/groups/2460383622/

The response so far on these Web pages has been very positive, as judged by the dozens of "likes" posted by many Corvair enthusiasts. With that response and the positive voting on the Corvair Forum for your Corvair as COTM, I think your innovative work has been shown to be well-received and is very popular! :tu: :not worthy:
