Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
Shoot! The seats that I bought with the car have a narrower footprint than the seats I borrowed from the convertible.
When I bought the car, seats weren't installed, and I figured they would be correct. Now to rig a way to make them fit.

Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
So, after some research, it looks like I have 64 seat frames, and the tracks are about 2" narrower than the '63 mounting holes. For now, they look good, but I will make some brackets for better fitment, and now I know the difference.
Working on back seat and door cards today.
Also took her to a show yesterday, and all that hard work pays off! I got my first award! 2nd place, people's choice. Really stoked.

^So much good stuff! and that was just the frunk. Inside the car I got a front bumper, '63 turbo heads with thermistor, a turbo with both downpipes, a carter YH carb, a manual choke carb, two sets of cylinders, window trim and handles, visors, a starter, a clutch disk/pressure plate, new valves and springs, and the glass bottle reservoir. So stoked, and this weekend I'll be getting a Lakewood!!!

Are you getting the Lakewood out of the Merlin area?

No, from Redding area.Gregory_Miller wrote:Are you getting the Lakewood out of the Merlin area?
I have been enjoying this thing so much, and haven't updated in a bit. I finally sewed up the visors today.
Also I cut a valve cover in half and used it to do a valve adjustment while running, and cut a little width off the driver's side exhaust pipe as it was really close to the tire on that side. Now I think I need to re-jet the carb to .053. So much fun, and hoping to drop the engine on T-day to change the internal seals and put a 3:27 diff 4 speed in.

This is what my '63 looks likeNickshu wrote:I don't think it's a real Spyder. It looks like someone cut out the Spyder exhaust outlet from the rear skirt. I don't see the flange. It should have a flange like the photo below. Also the "Spyder" emblem is placed too close to the Monza cross. The factory placed them further apart, again see the pic below.

[quote="Spyder4speed"]recessbilly,
It looks like you have a correct Spyder warning buzzer, very unlikely that someone mounted it and wired it after the fact. I am guessing that your left fender was replace or worked on at some point, that may account for the mislocated script. Your right side emblems look fine.
I'm also trying to verify a '63 Turbo. Where is the warning buzzer?
