This is the 1960 Corvair powered Gamma Goat, developed by Chance Vought corp. for the military.

Further "Twister" testbeds were developed by SAE for the military, using two, yes two sychronized 140 Corvair engines.

Here is a Corvair-based GM prototype called the AGL-4, it was designed for military and commercial use. It looks like a jacked-up Loadside pickup, but the cab and bed are separate pieces, connected by an articulating joint. The Corvair engine is mounted in the front, under the cab, and it is 4-wheel drive.

Any body ever seen the ALG-4 in the flesh? Had to be reverse rotation Y/N. Vairy cool...I want one!!! 8-)

Phil , I can't say for sure about reverse rotation but when I reviewed the video I noted that the engine is still flywheel forward just like a stock Vair . It would be cool.
I'll bet those guys in the back were hanging on !
