I love them! However, if you buy one not already road worthy it can take a lot to get one back on the road.
What shape is the body in? Is the aluminum in good condition or does it have wrinkles and/or pitting?
They are known for needing front suspension up dates; if not already done.

Do your homework if you are thinking of purchasing an Ultravan. Research the unit you are thinking of buying. Can you get parts for it, where and at what cost? Find out what it takes to maintain one?

IMO - The only safe way to haul them is with a over sized trailer or large 18 wheeler. Some have used a tow bar without any problems; but then again they are mainly all aluminum and who knows what shape bearings are in to have one rolling on the ground being towed for many miles.

Once you decide one is for you; have fun with it. They are a joy and people stop you, to ask questions, when getting gas or parked almost anywhere. You even get lots of smiles and waves from people on the road.
