Well, Ken, can you make contact with Ned to see if he will begin supporting CDs, memory sticks or download files again or transfer files to someone in the Vair hobby to help the the Vair owners wanting a copy. I think he was up in the midwest somewhere.
The way I see it, he copyrighted GM's diagrams from the 1965 Shop manual which itself was copyrighted in 1964.
His use may not be quite legal without their approval. As you can see on his diagram, it states diagram was written by GM in 1965. Not quiter accurate , since manual was copyrighted in 1964. It is not stated anywhere he had GM approval to use the duiagrams for his use to make money of a revised version of them.
Also, colored versions of the GM Corvair wiring diagrams have been published for quite a while before Ned produced his colored diagram package. They are also copyrighted, but again no GM appoval note. Maybe he is violating their copyright with his full version diagram. Lots of unanswered questions regarding this subject.
As long as someone else produces another set of colored diagrams on their own to add the corrections/improvements and make significant changes to the diagram package, then it would not be a use of his electronic data. It would be using the GM wiring diagrams knowing where the GM mistakes need to be made. Adding Wiring General Information and Troubleshooting for each system would be a significant change and very helpful to new owners unfamiliar with the Vair electrics or any automotive electrics. I am not a graphic programmer user. so I am no good on the deveopment, but I can help on the troubleshooting side of the package. A lot of general electrical trouble shooting is already out there.
Off my soapbox. I suspect I have wasted time on this subject at this point.
