Advertisement audio playing while Corvair forum is open

Post by terribleted »

Recently (last week or so) I have been getting some advertisement playing intermittently in the background (audio only) when this forum is open in a tab of my internet explorer. Sounds like some battery ad...talks about overheating you battery etc. This audio feed is intermittent and incomplete and goes away completely if I close Corvair forum. Not sure where the issue is My end or yours, just thought I would past this info along

I noticed the same thing on my PC audio... "90 degrees outside means 175-200 degrees under the hood. You can't see the damage to your battery from those temperatures. TRUESTART has the right...", then a pause and repeat. Perhaps it is an advertisement bleeding through from those listings under the title "CORVAIRS ON EBAY US" or "CORVAIR COLLECTIBLES" on the Portal screen, but it does not stop if I change away from the Portal screen. It only stops if I close thee Corvair Forum window.

It may be a bug with this new phpBB® Forum Software that is the engine that powers the Corvair Forum. Perhaps Scott Howey can figure it out.

I don't think it is intentional. The audio is incomplete and fades shortly after it gets to the "Truestart" name, and often fades just before that.

I sent a PM to Scott Howey about this.

There is a google ad at the bottom of the page, I have disabled video ads. Hopefully that fixes it.

Well Truestart is still playing audio in my background. Is pretty annoying. This audio continues to play on and off until I close the tab. Plays when I am looking at other tabs like my email or whatever.

Toyota TrueStart battery audio ad is still there. It runs in cycles, and was silent for a day or two but made a new appearance this evening.
