I have given some thought that a Prowler transaxle would be a good candidate for a mid engine Corvair.
If you were to find a totaled one for a reasonable price one could use the engine, transaxle, and computers.
Yes the Prowler has a drive shaft but both the engine and transaxle have bell housing's and it might just work to eliminate the drive shaft.
