Nobody has 1967 Corvairs?
Nobody has 1967 Corvairs?
All the research I have did and nobody seems to have any 1967 Corvairs, are these rare or are they a bad year to restore?

Re: Nobody has 1967 Corvairs?
I would suggest getting a shop manual and Bob Helt's books to start with. There are thousands of 67 Corvairs...not all that different from all 65-69 Corvairs...just trim and a few safety mods...interior changes. Engines and suspension all the same in the late models.
Not sure what you mean by research, but get some books and read or just read through all the posts here and on Corvair Center...that would be a huge education.
Post some pics of your car...we love to see what you are working on and welcome to the Corvair world!

Where I live, cars built after 66 require emissions testing or special exceptions to be legal.
In my case, I like late models but only buy 65 and 66 since they don't need emissions and they are the most plentiful and the easiest to find parts for. In 67 things started to change like the one-year-only special door hinges and some new safety items that are much harder to find if you are doing a restoration on a 67.
I run a big V8 in one Corvair, have another big V8 awaiting a rebuild plus have plans to put a modern water pumper engine in a third Corvair. If I stay with a 65-66 Corvairs I don't have worries about emissions.
I would only buy a 67-69 Corvair if it was to re-sell for a profit or to cut up for parts but that's just me.

My wife and I completed our anniversary project of a '67 convertible with power top. As mentioned, the safety features in the '67 are the major differences from the 65-66. Also the Chevy wide, 1 year only color, of Royal Plum was available for the Corvair in 1967. Judi's code "M" car along with Rick Norris and a couple others are all on these forums.
Re: Nobody has 1967 Corvairs?
That is a sweet colour, i was thinking of going purple, can you email me some more pictures of it.
Thanks
Thanks

That is a great colour, thanks for the added pics. Where did you get the front valence under the bumper, I will be adding one to mine eventually.

FREEJAX,
The front air dam on Judi's car is the "Camaro" replacement sold by Clarks.
The seats in her car are from a late 90's Grand Cherokee. Judi needed the 'lift' of the seats
because she could not see over the dash with stock seats. We had them recovered to match the stock rear seat in 1966 white. In 1967 white interior was not available with Royal Plum. Rick Norris's car has the correct black interior and convertible top.

Looks like an excellent car.
