I came here looking for some information about a vintage part for a Corvair. Image Image

Welcome to the forum!

The picture looks like a custom spare tire cover.

What is your question?

Questions are...What are these used for? How were they given out? Anybody else have one?

I am thinking they were a dealer promo item. Can't be a spare tire cover. They are about 10" across, and about 2 3/4" thick. Soft, with a vinyl shell.
I joined a Facebook forum and no one has seen them, except one fella said he has one similiar to it, but in a pale green color.

Looks like another version of this. A blank case that was stamped or screen printed with whatever car logo was popular at the time. Jumper cable bag is my guess too. Otherwise, it's just a display piece because it would be a lousy pillow. Besides, a pillow would not have such a large re-enterable zipper opening.

Good thought on a blank case being stamped! Although it appears the zipper opening would be small for jumper cables.
