Re: metal
no I never had the blower cover off
they are very small particles if they
made it through an open intake valve could they somehow get into the oil.
do you think I should pull the blower cover and see what the bearings look
or just put it back together and run it the way it is and see what happens

I pulled the oil pan off to install a new gasket and found a few very small pieces of aluminum
I think it came from when I put a helicoil in a stripped out p0lug hole
any thing I need to do to try to clean the oil lines better

Re: lifter removal
I am only removing 2 oil return tubes at a time
so and can't I put those back to the 30 ft pounds and repeat to the next 2
I am not removing the heads only removing the rocker arms so I can install a new seal and the O-rings on each end of the oil return tubes

Now where can I find the tork specks for 1965 110hp engine
I have been changing the oil seals in the oil return tubes and am not sure what the thing the rocker arm mounts onto
is called

I ask the place where I bought them if maybe I
ordered the wrong size for a 1965 110hp corvair and they said no they only list one size
Just guessing but it looked about 3/16 bigger than the old ones
