Re: Rust Advice
Your right, the first 2 are easy. Be careful with the 3rd one. Welding near the gas filler neck can make for a bad day. Mine was all rusted up there too so I Wrapped it from the inside with fibreglass.

Re: Sending Unit
I got mine to work. It was leaking on the supply tube on the outside. I used JB Weld and ran neoprene right up to the plate. No Leaks. My Gas gauge even works now...get this... the sending unit was fine. The float had a hole in it so gas got in and it didn't float. Replaced float ball and voila.

Re: Smoke out of PCV tube
I did a complete oil change. It seems ok now. Oil was as black as can be but it was fairly fresh oil. Definitely blow by. I wonder if I gummed up my valves and/or plugs.
Thanks guys.

Smoke out of PCV tube
When I rev the engine (with the air breather lid off), i see smoke coming out the top of the tube. I did notice there's too much oil in it. Could this just be blow by? When the engine cools down, I'll drain some out and try again. OR, could this be a bigger problem? Engine gets VERY hot at red lights.

Re: Input or Comments on '68 Monza Engine
Looks nice & clean. The only other thing I'd do is remove that hose which is the cold air exit and block off the opening at the back of the shroud. I did and used the base of the hose as a template to cut a piece of steel to fit. Also, if it's a summer car only, remove the exhaust ducts under th...

Re: Drive Train
wow, thanks for that. I wish I had that manual before I started. It seems to drive ok with no noise but slight drag. I am hoping the bearings will seat themselves. This isn't a daily driver but if they do fail again, I'll just order 2 rebuilt ones from clarkes or california.

Re: Drive Train
I rebuilt the axle and it's as quiet and smooth as can be. Definitely Bearing. It was a mess. There's a lot of resistance though. I wonder if I pressed the bearings in too tight OR too much grease.
